  • Our Honda Odyssey started acting up while we were visiting my mother-in-law in Santa Barbara. The neighbors recommended Dan, and so we called him. He came down to his shop on a Saturday and even though he had other cars to attend to, he quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem, repaired it, and then he got our A/C working as well.     My husband and I needed emergency service on our car on a Saturday evening - Dan was nice enough to stay open late so that AAA could tow our car in. Dan ended up working on our car until 11pm that night - all so that we could drive home to SLO and to our son.   • I was test driving a potential car to buy. Dan took the car and I on a free test drive around town. He was easily able to describe issues with the car, the good and the bad. He is very friendly and humble. He took the car back to the shop and had Jose also take a look under the hood. They were able to spot problems with the Subaru Outback telling me things to repair and prices. At the end of the day he spent about one hour with me and did not charge any fees. Very good place.

    It is a sad day when your car betrays you. In my case, it was a 2008 Mini Cooper whose brakes went out after 26,000 miles. Oh sure they were good miles but still. Dan, who has very blue eyes and the countenance of a saint, can fix everything. He fixed my brakes and brake pads. He fixed my wiper blades (free). He fixed my lack of a ride to the airport. (free). He fixed the fact that my car needed to be washed inside and out (free). He fixed the fact that I have never heard a story about a three year old boy destined to be a race car driver (free.) Dan seemed especially sad that my rotors were inexplicably worn. I was sad too. He got me some new tires that sing on pavement. He changed the oil (dirty). He lent me his car. He aligned my wheels and restored my Mini Cooper to the glorious promise I once drove off a lot four years ago. I don’t think there is anything Dan cannot fix, from a radiator to a bad relationship or the ozone layer. Chelsea works the office and she is smart and super friendly and helpful. If you go anyplace else in town you will miss Precision Auto’s honest, friendly, above-and-beyond, love-thy-neighbor kind of service, and also a great story about a three year old boy who is going to grow up and be a race car driver.

    I called Dan after calling about 5 auto shops in the area and he was the first to answer (it was about 6PM). He told me to bring my car in, even though he wasn't technically open. Not only did he meet with me after hours, but he had my breaks repaired before 6:30AM so that I could get to work in Carpinteria on time the next morning! The prices of most shops in SB tend to be high, but his price seemed in the same range. I've been to quite a few other shops in Goleta and Santa Barbara, but this is easily the best service I've received!

  • I have been going to Precision Automotive for 6 years now and find there service to be consistent and good. Over that entire period I have had only one issue and that was because the battery ran down and the radio lost its 'code'. They contacted the manufacturer and got the code and fixed the problem at no cost.
